Blue Ridge Parkway
R. vaseyi is found only in about a dozen counties in western North Carolina. One of the easiest ways to see vaseyi in the wild is to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway. An excellent section is from Asheville, NC to the Devils Courthouse (mile post 422.4). During the first week in May 2012, as part of the joint ARS/ASA convention in Asheville, we bussed along this section of the parkway.
